Mr. McAdam holds a law degree from the UCLA School of Law and a B.A. in Geology & Hydrology from Whittier College. His primary areas of practice include business transactions, contracts, environmental law, renewable energy, criminal defense, real estate transactions, “green” technologies, government affairs, local, state and federal permitting, regulatory compliance and litigation (he has litigated over 150 asbestos cases). Prior to founding McAdam & McCarthy, he was a senior associate in the Los Angeles office of Mayer Brown LLP (www.mayerbrown.com), a premier international law firm, and an associate with Irell & Manella LLP (www.irell.com), one of the elite law firms in the United States. 

Mr. McAdam has represented 5 of the current top 10 “Fortune 500” companies (2010), and has successfully advised clients in a broad range of business areas, including, energy production (renewable and traditional), manufacturing, aerospace, logistics, banking, transportation and real estate. He has also served as legal counsel and director to a variety of companies with emerging technologies in industries such as insulation, plastics, solar, water treatment and HVAC. His professional experience includes tenures with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Natural Resources Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, and counsel to the Western States Petroleum Association. Mr. McAdam is admitted to practice law before the California Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Central, Southern and Northern Districts of California.

An active member of his community, Mr. McAdam contributes significant time and resources to his church (www.centralchristian.com), and various charitable and environmental organizations. He also serves in an advisory capacity for a number of companies and organizations that are committed to creating sustainable solutions to modern industrial and environmental challenges.

Joseph McCarthy, MS JD

Mr. McCarthy’s primary area of legal expertise is Immigration Law, including all facets of EB-5 Regional Center and foreign investor immigration applications. He is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has successfully received USCIS approval for multiple EB-5 Regional Centers throughout the United States.  His legal practice also includes International Law, Business Law, with an emphasis on private placement memoranda (PPM) and partnership/limited partnership agreements, Litigation, Contract Negotiation and Environmental Law. Mr. McCarthy holds a law degree with honors from the Seattle University School of Law, a M.S. in Hydrogeology & Aqueous Geochemistry from the Colorado School of Mines, and a B.A. in Geology from Whittier College. 

Before co-founding McAdam & McCarthy, Mr. McCarthy's work experience included the Office of Executive Policy for the Governor of the State of Washington, several large international consulting firms and the United States Geological Survey.  Mr. McCarthy is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Courts of the states of Washington and California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
